The Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois is a not-for-profit organization created to increase public awareness of the services provided by Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association (CNNSSA).

The Foundations' purpose is to gain support for the funding of home delivery of meals to seniors in Cook, Grundy and Kendall counties in Illinois.

The Foundation's main activity is fundraising, which enables the Foundation to obtain the charitable donations and other funding that are the Foundation's main source of revenue.

In order to create new revenue support for CNNSSA's expansion into the collar counties, 5 new subsidiaries of the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois have recently been created. They are:

Meals on Wheels Foundation of Grundy County
Meals on Wheels Foundation of Kendall County
Meals on Wheels Foundation of Lake County
Meals on Wheels Foundation of Kane County
Meals on Wheels Foundation of McHenry County

The foundations staff in each of these counties will work to raise resources for the programs in that particular county. Any funds raised in these counties for the senior nutrition program will remain in those counties to support the local needs of older adults living there.
